In April 2023, Sysco unveiled a first-of-its-kind Electric Vehicle Hub and deployed 16 eCascadia tractors along with 5 electric refrigerated trailers in Riverside, California. In addition, our site in Fremont, CA also added 5 EV’s to their fleet.

We announced a new solar project in Edmonton, Alberta, which is expected to generate 75% of the site’s annual energy usage, and is being built by 100% Indigenous-owned vendor, Gridworks 

We commit to: 

• Reduce our Scope 1 & 2 Emissions by 27.5% by 2030 
• Work with suppliers representing 67% of Scope 3 emissions* to set science-based targets by 2026.  
  
  * Focusing on purchased goods and services and upstream transportation suppliers. *

We commit to advancing sustainable agriculture.

• Expand the Sysco Sustainable Agriculture program to include five fresh crops by 2025 and promote sustainable agriculture through participation in industry organizations and continuous communication of best practices to stakeholders (achieved) 

We commit to diverting waste from landfill.

• Divert 90% of operations and food waste from landfill.

We will care for people by giving back, doing good and changing lives in our communities; creating a diverse and inclusive work environment; and empowering associates, customers and the next generation to make healthy choices about lifestyles and diet.

We will supply products responsibly by improving animal welfare in the foodservice industry; minimizing negative environmental, social or ethical impacts when sourcing products; and ensuring that human rights are respected in our operations, as well as the global supply chain.
